Lucy Gaughan is a surface pattern designer, specialising in digital print. She designs all her own prints and patterns, taking sketches she has doodled and drawn whilst out and about, and then added colour to in the computer before having the prints digitally printed onto beautiful silk. Lucy then makes everything by hand with care and attention, creating a range of fashion accessories such as purses, bags and scarves.
Lucy also loves to knit, especially in winter where she combines knit with her fabrics creating unique and stylish reversible infinity scarves featuring both knit and print. Taking great inspiration from the textiles of Japan, Lucy loves drawing the nature and natural patterns around her. In addition, she admires 1950s textiles and feels there is an element of this in her work. She also designs greeting cards and has started to experiment with more homeware products such as tea towels and lampshades which she cannot wait to showcase at this years Summer Arts Market.
