Nicola Briggs creates handcrafted, contemporary ceramics out of porcelain. Her work is inspired by the textures found within nature, the ever-changing light across the landscape and a tasteful, muted colour palette. She photographs and sketches landscapes, translating onto clay as if it were a canvas and regularly featuring feathers, shells and wild flowers in her work. The artist also casts her own moulds using every-day objects, giving her collection a modern, rustic element, inspired by the Wabi-Sabi aesthetics.
