Based in Southport, Edna is a designer maker of handwoven textiles, who has life-long passion for all forms of textiles for art, fashion, and interiors. Her textiles are inspired by colours and textures found in art, architecture, and the natural environment, and uses photography, drawing, and collage to create designs for textiles.
Current inspiration is drawn from Japanese Shibori and Indigo tie-dyeing techniques, and the exciting results of depth of colour, determined by dip and resistance to dye, presenting new challenges for the design and processes of hand-weaving and stitched textiles.
